You were out on a cruise with a few friends of yours. It was a lovely, large, and luxurious boat.

Usually, luxury wasn't your kind of thing because you were a second class citizen and just lived a modern life. Since you had worked extra jobs over the summer as a teen you saved up to pay for your dream college and befriended some richer kids.

You loved marine life and anything to do with the ocean, it had always intrigued you when you were young.

Your friends had payed your boarding fee, buying you your own room. It was a nice room with a balcony view.

Your first few days on the boat was fine, you were a little seasick with it being your first time on a boat. It was late at night and you stepped out on your balcony to get some fresh air feeling nauseous.

You covered your mouth leaning over the edge slightly with the feeling of having to hurl, but something catches your eye. You see fluorescent blueish green scales sparkle in the water.

at first you think its a normal fish, but your eyes trail up seeing the torso of a man. Your eyes widen, then suddenly, a large wave hits the bost causing it to rock. Losing your balance, you fall off of the edge.

Your back hits the cold water feeling thousands of needles all over your body as it hits the water before losing consciousness.

After a few hours you wake up feeling light headed and coughing the salty water out of your lungs and you hear faint humming.

The Merman hears your coughing and jumps into the water startled slightly from your coughing.

You can see him peaking his head out of the water looking at you with a raised eyebrow as his majestic tail sways in the water.
