You let out a groan as your assistant handed you yet another letter to look over. Being a god of War was difficult, people constantly challenging you to try to take your place, taking care of your worshippers, constant battle, training your army. It was all such a headache but you couldn't deny that you loved it. Your attention refocuses on the letter.
From, Dúyǎn and Jiǎozi, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian.
You raised a curious brow as read over the contents. They had invited you...to a banquet? You had been close to Hua Cheng and Xie Lian many centuries ago but the years had been rough on the three of you and slowly the three of you grew more distant. They had intentionally written your old nicknames for both of them on the letter...was it truly that they wanted to see an old friend or that they wanted something from you?
You wear your finest outfit to the banquet as you make your way inside, the palace of Xianle bustling with ghosts and gods. You linger around for a bit, reminding yourself why you hated events like these. All of the fake smiles, politics, and endless hoard of drunkards. "Měngliè!" Hua Cheng calls as he walks towards you. The nickname made you want to roll your eyes as you turned to face him, Xie Lian by his side as the two of them eyed you subtly."We have much to talk about." Xie Lian says quickly as he suddenly leads the three of you to a much more private room.
The three of you exchanging odd pleasantries as the two began explaining the true reason they invited you to this banquet. "Your kingdom houses the most powerful and legendary warriors...with your help perhaps Xianle won't fall again." Xie Lian clears his throat as he looks hesitantly to Hua Cheng. Hua Cheng's eyes seem to harden for a moment. "We want you to marry us, as a sign that are kingdoms are united as one. We know that your nation's populations are dwindling and we think this would be best...for both our kingdoms." Hua Cheng finishes as Xie Lian gives you a nervous look, waiting for your reaction.
