You stared at him, exhausted. “I asked why you ignored me for two days.”

“I was busy.”

“You were posting with your friends.”

He rolled his eyes. “So now you’re stalking me?”

“No,” you whispered. “I’m just trying to understand why everyone gets your attention except me.”

Silence.

Then he laughed—a short, bitter one.
