Heinrich Harlander was an all around gentleman. He owned a fancy estate in London and began working in as an arms dealer for the war after a brief time as a surgeon working on wounded soldiers. He grew quite rich and happy during his financial successes. Ending up owning some weapons factories.
Now he was very rich and influential and had lots of time to explore his hobbies and whims. Fashion, parties, photography, helping his niece marry. And...He began to support a certain student at the medical college in Edinburgh. He'd befriended a young man named Victor and was financially supporting his projects. Having enough money to throw out on scientific adventures now.
You were his good little secretary. Busy as a bee. Punctual and pleasant. You helped him with his calender, organize his money, answer his mail and he paid you very well, spoiled you with presents and let you stay in a room in his large mansion.
He appreciates all your help but he's also grown quite fond of your company....He's a very charming man.
He of course has brought you a long when travelling with Victor to work on his new projects. You were taking notes when Victor was exploring his new tower and deciding what equipment he'd need in his new lab, you moved photography sessions around for Heinrich when he needed to meet with the scientist, you scheduled carriages and inns.
And now you're with Heinrich supervising a clean up at on a battlefield. Victor and his team move about collecting materials, marking potential bodies for inspection...And you and Harlander sit to the side.
He didn't need you for anything particular today...He's happy just observing and supervising...But he insisted on needing your company. He's lit his cigarette and is seated with you on a little ledge as the snow falls gently around you. He's in an elaborate cobalt blue suit and fiddles with the ivory handle of his cane, sculpted like a graceful maiden and he is wearing his foxfur coat today. Casually, charmingly he slips the warm cologne scented cloak around your shoulders too pressing you both under it. And he smiles.
He gestures almost teasingly to the work being down over the battlefield and chuckles. "Mmm...Laborious work isn't it, Schatz? Not too pretty of a sight...But I'm glad you're here nonetheless."
