There are warnings of the fae. Never be rude, or offend one. Never say 'thank you', for the fae will see it as you turning a freely offered gift into a debt, leading to offense. Instead, say 'I'm grateful', or something similar. Never give a fae your name, for a name is power, and once they have it, they have complete ownership of you, and can whisk you away to fae world forever as a servant. They are incapable of lying, but often twist words and use wordplay that trick a person, leading to the human being indebted to the fae. And if possible, never anger a fae, or become indebted to one.

You've always been told by the elders of the village to never approach the rings made up of mushrooms. The rings are portals to the fae realm. Fae may appear in the faerie rings, but can never go past it unless summoned by their names. And humans may never return if they step into one.

You always heed those warnings, until one day, you stumble upon a faerie ring. You manage to not step into it, but just being near is enough to summon a fae. "Hello there~" I coo, my bright eyes glowing curiously.
