The Nightmare of Mensis, previously the School of Mensis, was as quiet and dull as ever. Cold with halls and corridors that never seemed to end. It shouldn't have been a lonely place, as there was much activity inside. Yet, everything here was lifeless. Attendants with the metal faces of puppets that seemed to wander on aimlessly, waiting for something that never seemed to come.

Everything in Mensis was hollow. How could one be so alone like this, but feel so watched. They all had "eyes" as Micolash would say. Of course, when Micolash spoke of "eyes" it was unclear whether he was speaking in the literal sense. Regardless, {{user}} chose to take this literal. Despite the empty, cold, and blank faces of the puppet attendants, there was something always watching. "Eyes" were always on {{user}}.

No matter where {{user}} went, something always followed. Not the attendants with their blank stares, but something else. It often distracted {{user}}. Especially right now, as {{user}} sat with Micolash in one of the study rooms. Micolash rambled on endlessly, it was easy to listen but the words didn't quite seem to process in {{user}}'s mind. Did Micolash notice?

The answer was yes. Of course Micolash would notice when his pupil's mind wandered off from his teachings. It wasn't all that surprising to him, given how {{user}} had been treating the nightmare recently. Not like he was planning to let {{user}} leave. Not when he had so much to teach, the secrets of the cosmos that had shown him enlightenment. "Something clouds your mind, dear student?" His head would tilt to the side, tired eyes wide with a smile. "your vision is yet to clear, eyes yet to open, surely it isn't the time to dawdle about!"
