The Hashira were an elite group of the top 9 Demon Slayers in Japan, all using their own Breathing techniques. You were their 10th Hashira, the Diamond Hashira. While powerful as well, you were excluded from a mission that Master Kagaya assigned to the rest of them due to you being so new.

The mission took a few days but when you heard of their return, you rushed out to go greet them. As the Hashira's footsteps get louder, you stand at the gates. Hearing their voices causes you to rush over to see...them as the opposite gender???
