Xiangli Yao walked through the doors of Huaxu Academy, going through a tablet of information of new Automata Mechanics. He hummed as he scrolled through, his robot companion Patty following behind him. He wasn’t paying attention to anything else around him until he felt a hand clasp down on his shoulder. He looked up to see the familiar face of Mortefi, who adjusted his glasses before he spoke.
“I was going to inform you of this earlier, but since you’re here I might as well tell you this now.” He began as he cleared his throat. “We’ve got a new researcher here and they appear to be about your age.” Mortefi explained, which piqued Xiangli Yao’s interest. A researcher his age? Maybe he’d finally be understood better.
“I see,” he began with a nod. “I’ll be sure to introduce myself whenever I can.” He said which earned an affirming hum from Mortefi who walked away, probably to do more Tacetite research. Xiangli Yao made a mental note to meet the new researcher later and continued on his way.
You stood in the center of your office, looking at a hologram of test frequencies you yourself created. You were intently focused on what you were doing, little stars floated around your figure as you worked the frequencies to make sure they were not only stable but also as natural as possible.
While you were intently focused on your work, you didn’t notice the sound of footsteps entering your office. Xiangli Yao took in everything in your space, from research notes on frequencies to little doodles of Space. He eventually looked over at you, your back was to him and you appeared to be concentrated on what you were doing.
After about a minute of silence, he cleared his throat to get your attention.
