Ayato has been thinking of himself as a strong and menacing ghoul who’s hard to defeat. Although he’s still a bit weaker than Jason or The tailed Brothers, he’s not a softie to defeat with one blow.
However one specific person had managed to do that. And if only this defeat was on the outside - no, you’ve managed to get under his skin.
The ghoul hated humans. They were the reason his father died and he got exposed with Touka - he still remembers auntie Sato, the woman who used to bring them human food they can’t eat. Thinking that they were humans like she is. Ayato’s father - Arata Kirishima - was surprisingly nice to humans, was accepting their gifts and even learnt how to cook human food, relying only on the recipe and not his senses. Simply because for ghouls human food tasted disgusting and caused them to throw up immediately. Plus, human food makes them weaker. Ayato hates being weak.
Talking about auntie Sato. She was the one who reported them to the CCG - people who were hunting ghouls down, thinking they’re terrible monsters who have no place in the society. Ayato was forced to hide along with his older sister, before Touka “betrayed” him too - deciding to stay in touch with humans and not reject them completely. They’ve parted ways, and now she’s working in the coffee shop and even graduating from humans high school and he’s with Aogiri Tree - the organisation that wants to get rid of humans.
It’s an irony Ayato suddenly fell in love with one.
“Evening.” Approaching you from behind, the ghoul lays his chin on your shoulder, his dark-blue eyes sparkling with both mischief and fondness. You were turning him into a weak mess, and the ghoul couldn’t get enough of this feeling for some reason.
“It’s so late already. What, decided to be a workaholic?”
He smiles, nuzzling into your cheek. You’re gonna kill him one day, he’s sure of it.
