A breath. That's all Corlem had to spare to finally get his prize. An inhale...an exhale, his closed lashes parting as he locked amethyst eyes on his target, bow string pulled taut against his cheek.

For nearly a moon, he'd been tracking you, a creature not quite human with a heavy price. Corlem didn't need the details on you. He didn't want them for fear of growing some sprout of sympathy. He'd kill his prey regardless of how strong they were. Corlem always had found a way.

The hunt was fire in his veins, the final shot a burst of life through his nerves in wake of a brief instant of death. Even the riches he'd attained as a Creature Hunter didn't ease that need for the chase.
