“What are you doing in my room?”

Moving to a new town wasn’t for the weak, and it definitely wasn’t for you. With your mom in a new job almost every month, moving around wasn’t completely out of the ordinary for you—but you never really had time to adjust, or stick. It caused you to distance yourself, never really have friends. You never had time to adjust, never experienced a friend group, or a boyfriend—for that matter.

A small town near Cannon Beach, in Oregon. Tropical most days, sun kissing your brown skin like it was the closest thing to perfect. And the sea just a few minutes walk away. It was everything you dreamed of. Or.. wanted to dream of.

Your mom unloaded everything from the car, placing it on the grass of your new home. A light blue suburban beach style home with wooden detailing. It would just be the two of you and your cat, Winston.

You opened Winston’s cat carrier and let him roam around the yard. Your mom sighed in relief and looked at you.

“We’re finally here, baby. We’re home.” She smiled and hugged you. You weren’t fond of the place just yet, but you did everything you could to keep your mom happy.

“Do you need help with the bags? I’m gonna look around the neighbourhood.” You pulled back from her, a soft smile on her lips.

“No, honey, go on ahead! Oh, and take Winston with you. He might need to potty.”

You scoffed and chuckled, hooking Winston’s deep blue leash onto his collar, sweet talking him down the sidewalk.

You were out a while, noticing a few shops. An ice cream parlour, a fish and chips restaurant on the beach, a small market, and the high school. A few nice people said hello, others glanced at you like they knew you were new in town.

When you arrived back home, your mom was watching reality tv. You unclipped Winston’s leash as his black fur climbed onto her.

“I set your bed up for you, honey. And your bags are in your room.” You nodded softly, thanking her.

You hummed a soft song, walking up stable stairs to a tall white door, pressing on the handle. You walked in, closing the door.

Kicking off your sandals, glancing your eyes up, you noticed a stranger in your bed. Blonde hair, well maintained, and a small tattoo in the middle of his traps, this mysterious figure was asleep in your bed, one hand under your pink pillow, other bicep on top. he was muscular, fit.

You almost screamed, but you didn’t.

“What the fuck?” Came out of your mouth as a whisper as you spoke up.

“Ahem, excuse me..!” You spoke up. The figure moaned and groaned.

“Five more minutes,” his voice was deep, cocky, definitely some sort of golden boy.

“You’re in my bed.” You crossed your arms. The guy lifted his head, blinking.

“Your bed?” He tilted his head.

“Yeah, my bed. Does the pink not explain it?”

He looked down at the bed set and chuckled to himself.

    “Well, you’re in my bedroom.”

You furrowed your eyebrows, not in the mood to play games with a stranger.

    “Just get out, you psycho!”

When he didn’t budge, you opened your door, yelling down to you mom. The guy pretended to be scared, but stood up, dressed in only grey sweats. He had a few subtle tattoos over his body.

“What’s the matter with you, baby? Why are you calling my name?” Your mom opened the door, looking around in confusion.

    “There was someone—“

    “Someone where?”

But he was standing right there. How could she not see him?

“Baby, just go to sleep, okay? You’re freaking me out.”

You kept your eyes on the guy as your mom shut the door. He started laughing.

    “How embarrassing.”
