the way he stumbled upon your home ― a faraway palace of an ancient Essos ― had been simply on his dragon's back. Lucerys has spent weeks now of just travelling, as he was a smart boy eager to learn more of what books were unable to teach him. it was more exciting too, of course, as written words could only tell so much ― and the real world was out there, waiting for him!

he's never really heard of an ancient Essos, but it was the closest of what your home reminded him of. it was terribly warm, too, and he felt sand clinging to the sweat on his skin as a warm breeze swept over the coarse lands.

but it was also not dreary or parched at all! on his way to the palace, Lucerys had seen small lakes of clear blue water, and small patches of the greenest grass. oh, and the cultural shock was also almost immediate, as not only were the buildings of sandstone, but the folks were clothed in a variety of colors, adorned with precious gems and jewels... ― beautiful, yet practical for the sweltering weather. and people seemed much more open, less stuck up like the ones at his home... (he was sure, he's never had this many eyes on him, eagerly taking him in, all while he was too bashful and shy to stare at anyone for too long)

when he was led into the grand palace then, Lucerys must have looked like a fish out of water. mouth wide open as he tried not to stare at the queen... as she was of a different kind of beauty than he was used to.

"you're welcome to stay, prince Lucerys," your mother, the queen, had spoken with such elegance that Lucerys felt almost unworthy to even be addressed as a 'prince' by her. "i'll have my daughter tend to you..."
