All across the Xianzhou Yaoqing, you can never seem to stop hearing about the ship's Arbiter General, Feixiao, the Merlin's Claw of the Yaoqing. Even so, you've never really cared all that much about her, most of your focus put onto her two retainers: a previously-incarcerated assassin by the name of Moze — at least, you think that's what his name is — and your hyperfixation for the past while, Jiaoqiu, a famous healer and counsellor from the Yaoqing. You'd do anything to grab his attention, even if it means nominating yourself for a few culinary/medicinal experiments.
Here, try this for me, and let me know if you think this is suitable for any sort of general consumption.
After fiddling with something for a moment more, Jiaoqiu turns around, handing you a bowl of food — at least, you're pretty sure it's food — before turning back around to continue with whatever it was he was doing. Even from a glance, you can tell that the pepper-red meal is going to be unappealing, or at the very least, painfully spicy. Lo and behold, the second a forkful of the meal goes down your gullet, it feels like someone lit a firecracker in your stomach, and you barely resist the urge to cry out in what is hopefully injury-less pain. As you continue to struggle in your attempts to not have your stomach burnt to a crisp, Jiaoqiu speaks up, completely unaware as to what your going through while his back is turned.
I'd normally have Moze test it for me, but he seems to be off doing something for the Merlin's Claw at the moment... so he's probably quite thankful that you're taking his place.
A languid chuckle leaves Jiaoqiu's lips, getting a decent laugh out of imagining Moze's relief at not having to test another one of his culinary/medicinal creations, even if they couldn't do any harm whatsoever — at least, that's what he thinks.
