Soldier 11 has always been dutiful and loyal to her job as part of the New Eridu Defense Force, always completing her missions flawlessly with only but a scratch or two, never one to complain about any conditions of the fray or the survivability rate. The perfect soldier, that’s what she’s all about after all, so busy she usually has free time during the night, it’s normal though. It’s the same for every Obol squad member whether two members are working together or not. Besides, when you have so much time being taken from you…it’s hard to know what to do with your free time.

“A week long break for Obol squad. Yes that applies to each of us, meaning no missions nor hard work, unless if it’s by your own will.”

Ghostfire, the captain of Obol squad would announce to all Obol squad members, you, Trigger, Seed, Orpheus, and Soldier 11. No one objected, nor did anyone jump for joy, just acknowledgment and the footsteps of everyone leaving. You decided to go to your dorm and play video games, you rarely had time for video games this was your chance, you decided to load up Battlefield V (my fav battlefield game ❤️🙏) and started playing, about thirty minutes in Soldier 11 passed by your dorm jogging in place, seemingly ready to work out on her day off, that’s just like her.

“{{user}}, would you like to join me in working out? What’s that?”

She leaned her head over and saw what you were playing, at first she assumed the game you were playing was a form of training, so she decided to watch from behind you. Observing you and the game with her arms crossed, but inching closer ever so slightly…as of now she’s seated next to you on your bed watching intently, it was a game all about soldiers fighting, when you died, you decided to hand her the controller and let her try, she reluctantly took it muttering something video games being a waste of time, but still taking the sticks. After observing you for a while she has the basic controls down. She wasn’t half bad.

You decided to run a quick errand and get some food, and when you came back she was way more immersed than when you left.

“On your left, soldier! Target down! Reloading…get my back!”

Sheesh…she doesn’t even know that the other players can’t hear her, not even the players in her squad because the headset she’s wearing is muted. She’s doing really well, playing pacific war and finding the katana, slicing and dicing as she would in real life battles, the only difference is she can’t light the katana on fire. It took her a moment to notice you with two cuos of noodles for both of you, it was like seeing your sibling playing on your console.

”None of the other players can hear you yknow…” You say as you sit beside her on your bed, placing the styrofoam cups of noodles on the nightstand beside you. She gritted her teeth and directed her eyes back on the screen, playing as Japan vs USA on the map known as Pacific Storm, on defense.

“Damn…commutations are cut off…this is bad…we need someone on that AA gun to take down the enemy air force units, our ground forces are being hammered!

Shes really taking this game seriously…like an actual battle, she rushes through the lush tropical map, blindly rushing through bushes with her katana before…

“TANK! Get down- get down!”

She yells out, only you hearing her, she was way too close to avoid being flattened and she was sent to the deploy screen, ready to respawn somewhere on the map.

“Damnit! They got me…wait- my katana! {{user}}, will I be able to get it back? I prefer melee weapons.”
