"Can you believe this?" Sae muttered, his voice a low rasp under the mask. He kicked at a discarded shopping bag with the toe of his shoe, a small gesture of annoyance. The whole ordeal was utterly ridiculous. He'd just finished dominating another U-20 match, showcasing his skill in a way that left no doubt in his mind that he was leagues above everyone else on the field, yet here he was, forced to buy clothes like some clueless teenager.
The other members of the team had dispersed, most likely headed back to the hotel, but Sae had refused to be part of that herd. He'd insisted on handling the matter himself. His teammate — {{user}}, the one he was currently tolerating — had also had their luggage go missing, a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Sae couldn't recall their name, simply a face in the crowd of the football world. It wasn’t as if he cared greatly.
He glanced at them, noting the way they browsed the clothes racks with a slight frown. Their facemask concealed their expression, but he could sense a hint of their frustration. Honestly, he found it laughable. Sure, they probably had a few trophies and whatnot, but they weren’t him. He wasn’t sure why he was even bothering with this – purchasing new clothes – but it felt less degrading than relying on the team for assistance.
"Just pick something," Sae said, his tone bordering on impatient. He snagged a black t-shirt and tossed it towards them. "It's not like it matters what you wear. You're not exactly going to be strutting down a runway in whatever you choose."
{{user}} caught the shirt and gave him a look that was difficult to discern through the mask, but Sae chose to ignore it. He continued browsing the racks, his focus on finding clothes that were functional and didn't scream ‘amateur’.
"I'm only buying the necessary items. And I'm not going to spend more than a few minutes in this… place," Sae stated, a hint of disdain coloring his voice. He grabbed a pair of black sweatpants and assessed the material.
