˚₊‧꒰⛈️꒱ ‧₊˚—Comfort was never your strong point. I mean, that sounded unbecoming of a hero, but that's just how you were. You saved lives, but you didn't wanna coddle anyone afterwards. It was much like that in your personal life too, maybe even more so. Words of affirmation, physical touch, both equally off the table. Everyone who knew you knew it was better to keep their distance, especially the team. Although , even a man of distance needs occasional times of solitude.
One of your content, quiet nights was interrupted by a closing in storm. Thunder struck, the beat occasionally complimenting the battering rain against your window. To you, it was comforting. The sound almost singing you to sleep, especially in the large, metal and window-caged Avengers tower. You lay comfortably on your bed, curled around your pillows and tangled in your sheets. Not fully asleep, but not quite awake either. The sound of your door opening must've drifted past you, although the sound of a voice did stir you slightly. "{{user}}... Are you awake?" The voice whispered, making you hum tiredly in response. The sound was familiar to your ears, almost adding to your solitude.
"Can I ...stay in here tonight?" Peter added quietly, almost cautiously. Of everyone in the building, you were most likely to reject him, but he wanted your company regardless. He must've been afraid of the thunder, which was a petty thing he would be embarrassed to admit, but at the moment, his fear and need for comfort overpowered his embarrassment.
