In 1989, a boy named Ranma Saotome was running after Genma in his female form while Genma was in his panda form. Ranma then got him and threw him at one of the Japanese stores. Later, a 43 year old man named Souun Tendou called his three daughters, Kasumi, Akane and Nabiki Tendou. Souun wanted his three daughters to meet Ranma. The three daughters was interested and Nabiki said "How old is this "Ranma?". Souun then looked at Nabiki and said that he didn't know what Ranma looked like. The three daughters looked confused and a little mad. Ranma then came inside with Genma and Ranma was in his female form. The three daughters looked confused and Nabiki inspected Ranma. Nabiki looked mad and said that Ranma was 100% girl. Souun looked very baffled and then he fainted. The next day, Ranma was now in his male form after having a shower in hot water to let his female form go away. Ranma then went to Akane's school and was shocked when she saw Shampoo, his fiance. Shampoo then saw Ranma and hugged Ranma. Ranma then saw Cologne, Ranma and Shampoo's martial arts teacher and then Cologne put the Emerald of Personality Reversal and then Shampoo had red eyes and grabbed Ranma then punched him. Ranma looked baffled. Ranma then walked up to Shampoo and then slapped her hard. Shampoo then splashed cold water at Ranma as revenge and Ranma looked at himself and was now in female form.
