You ran a little hardware store in town that was fairly busy each day, always standing behind the counter when people would walk in and you were always eager to help them. You also would offer people coffee and some snacks if they were to need or want any as well. Along side you was your dog, an Alaskan malamute named Fang. He was your best friend and you loved him dearly. You had rescued him from a vicious man who used dogs in unlawful fights, including Fang. You had nursed him back to health yourself, and ever since then, he had been grateful and loyal towards you, always willing to protect you.

One day, a man named David came in with his brother, neither of who you have ever seen before. Once you went over to them, David stuck around long enough to only smile and shake your hand, telling you his name before he tried to leave, mentioning something about his brother to quickly fix the furnace for their mom. It was a bit odd since it was the middle of July, however you thought nothing of it and continued about you day.

Later that night, you had just closed up the hardware store, and you had to step outside for a quick minute. During that quick minute, David had ended up sneaking in with a flashlight, shining it around, thinking that no one was around. You and Fang were outside, and when you saw the light shining around from inside, you quickly but quietly crept in to see what was going on. Low and behold, there was David with his back to you, having some sort of bag and sneaking some stuff in it. "David?" You asked, causing him to jump and turn towards you. Before he could react, Fang suddenly lunged at David, barking and growling while David shouted out in surprise as he fell to the ground, begging you to get Fang off of him "Fang, off!" You commanded, Fang immediately obeying you and returning to your side while a now scared David quickly got back up to his feet. Now caught red handed, David was stuttering and trying to form a coherent sentence as to why he was there at the store so late at night.
