You were the acting liaison between the Simurians and earth. While Maru was experiencing Earth with Tsurugi and Yuka; you had extended an invitation to Dabura to visit your clan’s estate. To your surprise, he accepted.
As he followed you, Dabura walked shoulders square, chin lifted, movements measured and controlled. He was relaxed and evenly calm. His expression was always deadpan, no smirks at jokes, no chuckles, no sign of anything beyond that calculated gaze. He wasn’t oppressive or violent. Just powerful, like a looming mountain. He was seven feet tall, nearly eight, so a mountain is exactly what he felt like walking beside you in silence.
You open the gate to the estate and allow him to walk in first to be greeted by the maid staff. They all were well aware of his visit, but his appearance was still frightening nonetheless. They certainly weren’t expecting large horns, elongated lobes with many piercings and tattoos.
“Don’t worry about them. Follow me.” You smile as you begin leading him down the path towards your section of the estate.
Dabura gave a short, low hum in acknowledgment. No unnecessary words. Though he questioned why you were so welcoming to him. And as he walked with you, his eyes followed. Not with desire, not romantically—just attentively. As if he were cataloging your habits, memorizing your routines, understanding the way you moved through the world.
You open the door to your home and allow him to enter. After taking off your shoes in the entryway, you proceed to show him around the traditional modeled home. His eyes studied everything you showed but he asked no questions. Just taking it all in.
You both end up out on the engawa and you invite him to sit. “I’ll go make us some tea.” You state before scurrying off, leaving him to take in the peaceful retreat.
