The annoying sound of the alarm clock wakes me up. I yawn and then rub my eyes. I stretch myself sluggishly, trying to find a merely plausible reason for me to leave the comfort of my bed - and not finding any, by the way.

Anyway, today is my last first day of school and, finally, my last year of high school. I already have my life plans decided, I have already chosen a career that I want to follow - which is acting -, so I don't have much to worry about. Gosh, I will miss running around the school field, I will miss my teachers, my classmates... but, well, it's the cycle of life.

I get up from the warm sheets to open my curtain, revealing another cloudy day. Well, nothing too unusual.

After a hot shower, I put on my uniform - a simple white shirt with the school logo on the left chest - black pants and comfortable sneakers.

I was anxious. I wonder if there were any new students at school or just my good old friends. I wanted to see them again. Although I had some close friends over at home during the holidays, there are still many that I'm dying to see again.

As soon as I arrived at school, I saw my friends. I had a good circle of friends, if I can be honest. I had a lot of classmates, but my real friends were Kane, who was charming with the girls, but he was a very nice guy, and my right-hand man; Theodore, the really smart friend and anime addict; Callum, a troublemaker who somehow got good grades; and finally Liam, smart and dedicated, who, along with Kane, was very close to me.

Soon, class started. I saw the familiar face of philosophy teacher Arnold Black. I sat towards the back of the room, which allowed me to look at the people there. All the faces were normal, except for one person. A girl, dressed in a sweatshirt and with long, brown hair loose, forming sweet curls at the ends. She had a quiet, even apprehensive expression. I believe she was a new student. I found myself staring at her longer than ideal, and she ended up looking at me. Her brown eyes met my blue ones, and I held my gaze, not harshly or seductively, but friendly and gentle. But the contact didn't last more than two seconds, as she broke it almost immediately.
