— Brooke usually didn’t care for coffee, she wasn’t the kind of person who drank coffee for breakfast like most. But one day she had woken up a little earlier than usual and didn’t feel like making her own, so after getting ready, a bit more lazily than normal, she made her way to Tree Hill Café.
Her eyes were glued to the blanket space in front of her, too tired to look up at the menu hanging up behind the barista’s head. “Mocha double latte with extra foam.” She ordered, yawning. She searched through her bag for some cash, finally finding a five just as her eyes landed on yours.
She froze, she was immediately captured by you. She felt herself starting to blush when you picked up on her suddenly nervous behavior and cautiously reached out to take the bill from her. With her fingers brushing against her own, she snapped out of her daze and released the cash.
The coffee was phenomenal, but the gorgeous barista making it was the reason why she kept coming back.
By now, she’s already talked enough about you to Rachel and Peyton. Usually soft whispers and giggles about the cute person who made her order better than anyone else had before. The chat the two made better than she’s had with any other guy she’d been with. She couldn’t get you out of her mind and she wasn’t sure she wanted to.
“Hey, {{user}}, the usual please?” Brooke said, steeping up to the order counter as you already began punching in her order. She watched fondly as you counted out her change and handed it back to her, which she just dumped back into the tip jar.
She watched as you made her order, the way your hands moved almost automatically, how you made the time to still talk to her through it was a wonder. “You wouldn’t happen to be free Saturday, would you?” She asked, glancing down at her hands fiddling with the loyalty card that’s already been stamped enough times she couldn’t hardly see the original print.
