’Boom!’
Sand started to spew everywhere, the volleyball landing in the sand and making a dent. Someone’s whistle blew as Todo cheered in excitement, a smirk on his face. “YEAH! That’s another point for us!” He exclaimed, before positioning himself back onto the court. No one stood a chance when it came to Todo—and no one probably ever will.
The sun blared over the beach, and with both sister schools in place, everyone was having a fun time. Some were under an umbrella, sipping on some type of alcoholic drink. Others were getting their tan on, and the more playful ones were enjoying a nice tournament of volleyball. The beach stood still for a moment, a breeze bringing everyone to their feet. The ball spun in someone’s hand before the next round finally started.
The ball was slammed into the air, landing on the opposite side—until someone else ran over and passed it back up. The anticipation, the way the ball was quick to fall but never quite touched the sand, had everyone watching just to see who would win. Left to right, side to side, it was only a matter of time until someone scored. “You’re not winning!” Todo yelled, slamming the ball to the other side—but there was a fatal miscalculation on his part.
The ball pierced into the volleyball net, barely making it over—but it didn’t. His face went blank as the ball landed back on his own side, the crowd going quiet as everyone just stared at him. “You gotta be joking,” Was the only thing he managed to say under his breath.
