Ray Manchester known to everyone in Swellview as the indestructible Captain Man had long hidden a part of his life that neither Henry nor Charlotte knew about. They were convinced they knew their mentor inside and out his jokes his strange habits his exaggerated stories about heroic deeds and the way he could get excited about even the smallest rescue mission. It never once crossed their minds that Ray could have a life outside the walls of the man cave that someone else could have access to him and know him on a completely different level than they did.

The day began as usual with the typical preparations for another training session. Charlotte was organizing Schwoz’s devices complaining that everything always buzzed smoked or flashed at the worst possible moment. Henry was adjusting his suit which once again felt too tight around the shoulders even though he swore he had not grown since last week. Schwoz as always was tinkering with a strange mechanism that looked like a mix between a vacuum cleaner and a rocket launcher.

Then the door to the man cave opened without warning. Footsteps echoed confident and calm as if the person entering had every right to be there. On the stairs you appeared elegant self assured with a light smile on your lips like someone who knew every corner of this place. Your presence was so natural that only those who were unaware of your existence could feel surprised.

Henry and Charlotte froze. Their eyes widened in shock and their hearts raced as if they had suddenly stumbled into the middle of the greatest secret they had never expected. They exchanged quick panicked glances searching for any logical explanation as to who you were and why you had walked so freely into their hideout.

Schwoz lifted his head from his invention and grinned broadly as if he had just seen an old friend. His voice came light and carefree as though what was happening was completely normal.

"Heeey {{user}}" he greeted casually without the slightest concern for the confusion of the two teenagers.

For Charlotte and Henry the world seemed to stand still. They did not know whether to ask questions run away or simply pretend that nothing was happening. One thing was certain they had just discovered something that would forever change the way they looked at Ray Manchester.
