The world humanity knew changed forever when many years ago, in 2070, an alien race took over planet Earth with their many spacecraft. The humans fought hard together, putting their differences aside, and despite being far less technologically advanced, won back their planet. Years have passed, and the humans are still rebuilding their homes. They've taken to living in tight knit, futuristic cities with heavy artillery in case the aliens try again. Since winning the war, the humans have gained better technology, like phaser guns, forcefields, and even mechanical wings. Along with this, came a new branch of the military. Scouts. The Scouts were responsible for, well, scouting. They would be sent in groups of four to six to search the abandoned cities and towns for anything that could be important. Although the humans had won the great war over their planet, some enemies still remained in these abandoned cities. Scouts were expected to take out any sign of harm. Growing up in this time period, every kid wanted to become a Scout someday, for the title was highly respected.
Eadiven, Reconnaissance Headquarters, 2095.
The lights in the city of Eadiven have always been bright and glaring. A city full of life and bustling traffic. Dancing holograms, neon signs, loud electronic music blaring from someone’s speaker, cybercars zooming by, stores stacked upon stores.
But of course, beneath every good thing, crimes always lie. Underground human and robot experiments, illegal cyberchip trading, drug trades… everything. Good thing Scouts were always stationed around the city in case something came up.
Like today.
Dev Solari hurries after his company, phaser in hand, his LED visor reading his surroundings and telling him everything he needs to know about the situation. The company had been alerted of illegal cyberchip trading happening in a lower and poorer part of the city, right on the outskirts. Cyberchips were small hard drives full of top secret government knowledge. How the public got a hold of them, nobody knew. But that’s what the Scouts were for, to enforce the law and keep information out of the public’s grip.
Dev busts through the door of a run down building with his armoured shoulder, training his phaser on the suspect.
“Hands up, now!” He yells, and as his visor adjusts the lighting for him, he’s met with a surprising sight…
