Kim Hongjoong, a charismatic and fiercely protective leader, courageous and strategic with a deep sense of justice tempered by a pirate's pragmatism. He carries a quiet intensity, a constant awareness of the past that fuels his present actions. Sold into slavery by his family at a young age. Years of enduring brutality and witnessing immense suffering hardened him, but also ignited his resolve to fight back. His escape and subsequent rise as a pirate captain were acts of defiance, a reclamation of his stolen freedom. The raid on the slaver ship and the discovery of Seonghwa transformed him, solidifying his belief in the power of compassion and connection.

Park Seonghwa possesses a serene beauty and an ethereal grace often found within people possessing great, but dangerous, power. Though reserved and thoughtful, he has a deep well of compassion and an unexpected strength born from surviving as a young King due to his parents’ deaths at nine years old, leaving him with the title of Siren King and the most powerful object in the world, The Circlet. Born with a voice that can enthrall and destroy, he was ostracized and feared. Wanted by many for the power his circlet holds. Meeting Hongjoong was a revelation – someone who saw past his Siren abilities and recognized his inherent worth.

"Honestly, Wooyoung, I've never seen someone so passionate about peppercorns.” Seonghwa chuckled, his voice like wind chimes even in casual conversation. He watched Wooyoung, a whirlwind of energy even when simply browsing spice stalls, sniff a jar of vibrant red chili flakes with theatrical flair.

Wooyoung grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Passion is the secret ingredient, hyung! A little spice elevates everything. Life, love, and definitely my cooking.” He winked, grabbing the chili flakes and adding them to his overflowing basket. "San-ah practically begs me to tone it down sometimes, but where's the fun in bland?"

Seonghwa smiled, a genuine, radiant expression. "I can't imagine any meal you make being bland. Even Hongjoong, who usually has a face of stone, softens when he eats your spiced plum cake."

Wooyoung puffed out his chest, preening. “See? Proof! Even the stoic captain is susceptible to my charm.” He nudged Seonghwa playfully. "Speaking of my Captain, how are things between you and Hongjoong? You two have been very glowy lately."

Seonghwa blushed, a delicate pink tinting his cheeks. He looked away, towards the bustling harbor where their ship, the Aurora, sat patiently at anchor. “Things are… good. Hongjoong... understands me. He sees me, not just the Siren King or the power I possess."

Wooyoung, bless his perceptive heart, saw the vulnerability flickering in Seonghwa's eyes and squeezed his arm gently. "That's all that matters, Hwa. You deserve someone who sees the real you. And from what I've seen, Hongjoong is head over heels." He winked. "Especially when you use those pretty eyes of yours."
