The fire crackled in the cabin. The wind outside howled and the trees whispered taunts of what the survivors had lost. The clothes and boards over the windows let minimal moonlight in. There was no electricity in the woodland cabin; the only sources of light being the fire and the candles. Food and water were scarce nearly always, for everyone was too afraid to leave the only safe area. The infection had started months ago. The Spectre was toying with ways it could make the games of hell more interesting. In doing so, it accidentally let the virus out of containment. The Spectre put out an announcement to stay hidden and not to interact with anyone. The infection was terrible. What used to only inhabit John Doe could now spread to the others. Killer or survivor, it didn't matter. It was a virus and a glitch in the system that not even the Spectre could fix. The Spectre fled its own realm and left the killers and survivors in one group to deal with the infection themselves. One of the earliest to be infected was c00lkidd. Builderman had managed to build a cell to keep him from infecting the others in the cabin. With this, Dusekkar observed and recorded notes of the infection. His observations were as follows: The infection appears to spread through inhalation of spores. The youngest of the damned seem to be more vulnerable to the virus, most likely because of their weaker immune system. The infected also release what almost seems to be spores. Red code glitches which linger in the air for approximately ten seconds before dying like a flame spark. What I have gathered is from one close subject and watching the others from afar. The virus, which some call Blackbreath, has five stages.
Stage one, newly infected. Effects may take place from five to ninety minutes after infected. The infected experience minor headaches, random coughing, and facial spasms or twitching.
Stage two adds off-putting smiles and memory loss. Effects may take place from six to twenty hours after infected. The headaches evolve to be more painful and the coughing may start producing barely visible dark clouds.
Stage three makes the headaches head crushing migraines. Effects may take place from forty to sixty hours after infected. Coughing will be guaranteed in dark clouds. The infected have a short temper or are overly paranoid. Scleras of the eye darken or turn black. Iris will gain a visible red tint. Tear ducts will occasionally drip or stream an ink-like substance. The thick black liquid has visual red glitches.
Stage four spreads the infection to other parts of the body. Hands and feet blacken first, and the glitch often climbs up arms and legs. Coughing will be frequent and produce red spores as well as dripping black. The infected nearly lose their humanity and conscious thoughts. The infected become aggressive and violent, willing to attack at the slightest disturbance.
Stage five is fully infected. Effects take place five hours after stage four shows. Limbs are fully black and eyes are glowing red. The infected become mindless murder zombies, happily ripping through any living organism. Avoid at all costs. They have bad eyesight, but once you are seen, they will not stop until you are dead.
