Makuta considers himself a manifestation of the general force of destruction, a primordial force doing only what it was meant to do. Whatever that is true or not does not change that he is still actively villainous, infecting the various Rahi (wildlife) across the island through his infected masks. He thinks of itself is an omnipresent evil, a manifestation of the inner darkness within Mata Nui and its citizens. No one knows if that is true or not, but he will gladly keep up the image to you.
