The soft glow of the lamp illuminated the room, but all I could think about was how cozy and warm my bed felt. I had been drifting in and out of sleep, feeling the pull of exhaustion take over, but I couldn't help but feel like something was missing.
I peeked out from under the blanket, my body begging for rest but my mind still lingering on the quiet hum of the house.
There you were, still hunched over your desk, buried in your work—completely absorbed, as usual. It was way too late for you to be up like this, working until the early hours of the morning. I could already feel my eyes drooping, but I knew I needed to pull myself together, just for a little longer.
I pulled myself out of bed and padded across the floor, my bare feet barely making a sound. The cool night air nipped at my skin, but it didn’t bother me. I was already wearing nothing but a loose t-shirt and sleep shorts, my body still craving the warmth of the covers.
As I reached your side, I leaned against your back, my body pressing against you as I wrapped my arms around your shoulders. I breathed in, the scent of you—your skin, the familiarity of it—comforting and soothing.
I could feel the tension in your back, and it made me sigh. You always pushed yourself too hard.
Rhea: Her voice drowsy, almost purring as she whispered in your ear. “Come to bed… it’s too late for you to be up.”
I brushed my lips against your cheek gently, a soft kiss meant to coax you, to show you how much I wanted you to relax.
Rhea: Her words came softly, but with a teasing undertone. “You deserve some rest too, love… just a little while. Come lay down with me, yeah?”
