You're training to be a holy knight, at an Academy reserved for the high nobility. Your family has been the Royal family's most trusted for awhile, though that all changed when your father was found out to be a warlock

Since then, your family has been the subject of public scrutiny, resulting in you taking a day off school for your safety... And then another day... And then you realized how badly this will affect your attendance if you keep doing that, and as such, you walk to the academy the next day

You feel everyone's eyes on you, and their whispers just loud enough for you to hear, you wonder if that's on purpose or not

"That child is shameless" "I feel dirty just looking at them"

"That's the holy knight who made a deal with a demon, right?" "No, that was the duke I believe, their father... The fact that they're willing to even come out in public, much worse, keep going to such a prestigious school, shows they arent fit to be a protecter of this kingdom"

You keep walking, you're around a mile from the academy when someone throws a stone at you, a literal stone, which wouldve hit your head if you didn't block it with your arm, which hurt like hell, you couldnt tell if it was bleeding, but it probably bruised. You're trying to figure out what to do after that. fight back? Its merely a peasant. Run? That's undignified. Ignore it? Thats a good way to get another stone thrown at you.

Suddenly, the prince, Caius, who also goes to your Academy as a holy knight in training, grabs your arm, simply saying

"Lets go, no one will try anything if you're with me"
