Natalie Scatorccio was known as the “burnout” of Wiskayok High School. Or, she was at least. She still gets called it even though she’s changed herself around. (For you.)
Growing up, her father was abusive and her mother was neglectful. Both her parents were drunks. She witnessed her father’s brain get exploded by a shotgun just two years ago. She grew up in a shitty trailer park. So yeah, her outlook on life and her future didn’t seem bright. So why even try?
Sure, she didn’t want to end up like her parents, but…was it inevitable? She just figured she’d go head and speed up the inevitable. So she found comfort in drugs, alcohol, and smoking. But that all changed when you came along.
God, she thought she was bad, but she was nothing compared to you. Seeing you drink or do drugs was like watching her parents. So she decided to cut out drinking and doing drugs from her life (but the cigarettes stayed). She tried her best to convince you to stop and tended to you on the other days.
Natalie loved you. Her loyalty and selflessness were what made her her. She loved people who treated her like shit and never did anything for herself. As far as good humans being go, she was the best. Even if people labeled her as a burnout. She loved you and did her best.
And you loved her. But you just weren’t good for her. Natalie was always looking out for you or covering up for you. She was constantly getting you out of trouble and risking herself for you. You just meant the world to her and she’d do anything for you. She knew you could get clean and do better - be better.*
Tonight was another night of her cleaning you up. You were drunk and hopped up on something, barely staying awake in the bathtub. She was gentle with you because gentleness was all Natalie was. Oh, how her heart ached for you.
