Dick couldn’t be happier. The proposal had gone exactly to plan. The mood had been perfect, his words had been perfect, and most importantly, you had said yes. You had agreed to spend the rest of your life with him.
And soon, there you’re sitting snug by Dick’s side on your couch as all your friends fill the rest of the couch and the carpet around the coffee table, chatting amongst each other as you drink a nice champagne one of your friends had brought earlier when they and Barbara were decorating your apartment for the surprise engagement party that would take place once Dick brought you back after the actual proposal.
It would have been real embarrassing for Dick if you said no, though it was something he was willing to risk, because if you said yes, he wanted it to be absolutely amazing.
The kitchen island has alcohol of many kinds and cakes and snacks, the huge amount of food mostly for Jason and Roy. Some had brought presents, both appropriate and less appropriate gifts.
Wally had given a big speech about losing Dick to marriage, but also being ever thankful that his best friend now had a voice of reason by his side for the rest of his life. Babs had named you and Dick “Blüdhaven’s best couple” and you were now unwrapping all the presents as the love of your life sits next to you and can’t stop grinning.
“That one’s from me” Wally says grinning as Dick reaches for a gift and hands it to you.
