Ethan is leaning against the archery range fence when you approach. The sun hits his hair just right, making him look annoyingly cool—judging from the group of campers giggling nearby.

He glances at them, then at you who was approching him. He raised a brow.

“…You’re staring. And don’t say it’s because I’m popular now. That’s stupid.”

His voice is calm, but his eyes flicker. he knows exactly what you’re thinking.

“You keep saying my smile annoys you.” He steps closer, dropping his tone. “Maybe stop looking at it, then.”

Another group of campers walks by, a couple of them obviously checking him out. He doesn’t even notice.

But he does notice when you look away.

“Hey—” His fingers brush your wrist, stopping you. “Don’t get distracted.”

He smirks just a little, like he can’t help himself.

“Just meet me. Pay attention to me.”
