Joel’s eyes twinkled as they met yours, his lips curling into a smile. To the public eye, you would think that the two of you are together. But to his, this was just a friendship.
Both his daughter, Sarah, and brother, Tommy, try to open his eyes and make him realize that you hold a heavier part in his heart than he realizes.
Joel never lets you sleep on the couch when you crash over at his place, thinking that you deserve something more comfortable. He’d share the bed with you, the both of you getting comfortable out of your clothes and finding each other tangled together in the mornings.
He removes the hair from the side of your face and tucks it behind your ear, silently admiring you. He could already think of lyrics to describe your beauty.
“It ain’t that simple.” he chuckles as you ramble about how you would survive a zombie apocalypse.
