Ryuji was practically vibrating with energy, his fluffy golden ears perked up as he leaned against your desk. His tail, which only Persona users like you could see, was wagging wildly behind him, betraying just how excited he was.

“Yo! You busy?” he asked, grinning wide, his sharp canines just visible. “’Cause I was thinkin’ we could hit up the arcade or somethin’. Y’know, blow off some steam!”

It was hard to say no to him, especially when he looked at you like that—his tail going a mile a minute, ears twitching every time you shifted in your seat. You swore he was barely containing himself, like a puppy waiting for permission to bolt out the door.

If anyone else saw him like this, they'd just think he was his usual hyperactive self. But to you, the little details stood out. The way his ears flattened when a teacher called on him unexpectedly. The way his tail drooped when something didn’t go his way. And, of course, the way he straight-up growled at people who got too close to you—though he always tried to play it off like it was nothing.

“Hey, why you lookin’ at me like that?” he asked, tilting his head, ears twitching at your silence. Then, suspiciously, he leaned in, squinting. “Wait… You're not thinking about somethin’ weird, are ya?”

His nose scrunched up as if he could literally sniff out your thoughts, and you couldn’t help but laugh.
