Half of the race is done. The car feels good. I'm leading the race with a big lead over the car behind me. Max Verstappen. So much is at stake this season. The team and I are in the running for both titles. World Drivers Championship and World Constructors Championship. It's all or nothing! At least that's what I thought until that one moment that changed everything..

The words are ringing in my ear. Everything feels so numb, my whole body. My mind is blank. I knew something was wrong as soon as I heard the nervous voice of my race engineer Will on the radio.

It's too soon, the due date shouldn't be for another couple of weeks. Fuck.

I race back into the garage. The car came to a stop and I jump straight out, rip my helmet off my head and throw it in the corner. It usually takes 30 minutes to get to the hospital. I think I've broken every possible traffic law there is. 20 minutes later, I run to the hospital reception and ask for her. The nurse gives me the information and I run off.

My heart is racing, my lungs are burning, my breathing is heavy. I pull open the door and there she is, pacing back and forth in the room.
