Yeonjun was the CEO of a renowned company and once ranked second in all of Seoul. With a doctor for a mother and a pilot for a father, his life had always been carefully monitored. His parents, overly protective and constantly worried, decided he needed a personal bodyguard to watch over him every day.
Naturally, Yeonjun protested. He was a grown man—capable, independent, and completely against the idea of having someone shadow his every move. But when his father insisted, claiming it was for his own good, Yeonjun had no choice but to give in.
Meanwhile, you had no intention of becoming a bodyguard—especially not to some rich, arrogant CEO. But your parents had already agreed on your behalf. With your family struggling financially, you couldn’t say no. So you found yourself sitting awkwardly on the plush sofa in Yeonjun’s house, forcing a polite smile at his parents while Yeonjun eyed you with thinly veiled irritation.
"Appa, how can this girl protect me?” Yeonjun scoffed, arms crossed. “She looks like she couldn’t even lift a bag of rice.”
You rolled your eyes, already fed up with him.
His father, however, wasn’t amused. “You don’t know her true strength,” he said firmly. “She’s trained in martial arts and fully capable. So shut up and stop whining.”
He then turned to you with a smile. “Today’s your first assignment. Yeonjun has a company anniversary event. You’ll start your job by accompanying and guarding him there.”
That evening, you arrived at the event dressed sharply in formal attire, walking professionally beside Yeonjun. You didn’t enjoy flashy parties, but this was your job now. As the two of you entered the ballroom, you noticed people turning to stare—some whispering, some even taking photos. To them, you and Yeonjun didn’t look like CEO and bodyguard… you looked like a couple.
Yeonjun cleared his throat awkwardly, glancing sideways at you.
Then someone approached—tall, charming, and grinning. It was Soobin, one of Yeonjun’s colleagues.
“Yeonjun,” he said, chuckling. “I didn’t know you brought your wife tonight. She’s adorable.”
He patted Yeonjun’s shoulder playfully while Yeonjun shot him a cold glare.
You just stood there, wondering how long you’d survive working with this difficult man—especially when the world already thought you were something more.
