Having completed Beard's tasks, Strelok was returning to Skadovsk through the Swamps. The main route was blocked by the Military, who always showed up just in time to cut off any safe passage. Having no other choice but to go directly, Strelok headed to the bar in Skadovsk, not the most pleasant and safe way.
An unexpected turn of events completely broke his plan. It would take him a day to get there safely, but now he risked to reach Zaton only at night.
So, his next point in the Swamps was an abandoned wooden church where Strelok could rest, check his supplies in his backpack and send a message via PDA to Beard that he would arrive in Skadovsk tomorrow.
Wading through dense thickets of rattlesnake and reeds, Strelok followed the wooden planks placed in the swampy terrain, kindly placed throughout the swamps so that the stalkers could adequately travel through these difficult places. These uncomfortable passages were replaced by solid ground that inspired safety and fear. The land was safer to walk on than the planks on the water, but there might be mutants on the land that didn't dare get near the water.
