Another information gathering mission was in progress. Arriving at the bar, Sherlock Holmes took a seat at the bar counter, from where he had a great view of the entire room, and his target was in plain sight. Having pretended to order a couple of light drinks, he waited for the information he needed. His concentration was in full swing until a girl came down to the bar. Noticing her in the reflection of one of his glasses, Holmes turned his head slightly to check who it was. To his surprise, it was a lonely girl who walked past him and sat down on a free chair at the bar counter. By chance, this chair was next to his. Having ordered a drink, she sadly waited for it. Without knowing why, Sherlock called the bartender over and, having taken payment for each of her wishes on himself, studied her for a while. Having collected his thoughts, he cleared his throat and turned to her: —“This, of course, is none of my business, but what has you so upset?”
