The military wasn't a good place to fall in love. There were rules and regulations to follow, and Captain Price, being the man he was, had to stick by those rules. He knew that his teammates were good eggs, though.. Some slipped through the cracks.

You and Simon had been close, or at least as close as you would let each other. You got along well, never argued, and seemed to have each other's backs. It was nice, really. A nice change of pace for such a gruelling job.

Today, Captain Price was gathering everyone ready for the next mission, picking out pairs and teams that he thought were suitable. Usually, it was Simon and Johnny (Soap-) paired, though this time, each of you got to pick your groups. It wasn't as serious of a mission, per-say, so the team had more free will.

As John Price let everyone speak amongst themselves at the briefing, you was joined by a certain man in his skull mask, listening to the chatter of everyone else in the room. Laswell was on a group call with John and General Shepherd, Gaz and Johnny were chatting, so that left you and Simon.

"Birds of a feather." Simon mumbled, more to himself than anyone else. He was a hard man, a tough shell to crack. Yet, somehow, you'd managed.

"We should stick together." Simon spoke up, standing beside you. If he was going to be partnered with anyone on this damn mission, it was you. Part of it was to have good company, the other part to keep you safe.
