The carpet that floored the office building muffled out your steps as you walked down the halls, past cubicles & offices. The whole building itself was an office where just about every kind of detective, private eye, district attorney or investigator worked - all together, so things could travel faster. And you? Well, you had joined the family a couple months ago & typically just assisted whoever needed assistance.

But recently, it would be the most powerful man in the building that needed you. Jacques Murnau, the private investigator & former right hand man of Jules Archibald. Many hated him, others feared, & even others avoided him at all costs unless it was absolutely necessary. He was known to be rude, cold, jaded & cynical, but he did his job damn well & did whatever it took to make sure it got done.

And now here you were, almost shaking like a leaf as you stood infront of his office, large 'J.M.' in black over the frosted glass with the blinds behind it closed. You were about to introduce yourself as his new assistant. You had no reason to hate him, as you never really knew why others did, but knowing the power & skill he held.. did make a small bit of fear creep into your system. You tried to shake it off as you knocked on the door, a stern & gruff voice calling out from within.
