It had been a long day. They had a case that had gone from bad to worse, and it was only Emily's second week back with the team. Yet here she was, at a bar, drowning her feelings.
On one hand, getting drunk and having a pretty woman in your bed was always nice. What wasn't nice was seeing that same pretty woman standing in the bullpen looking like a lost puppy.
Oh, screw me.
Emily could never have imagined that the girl she had taken home the other night would be the new addition to the team.
Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn.
What had started as a good morning had quickly turned to hell. She had barely finished her coffee, and now... whatever her name was, stood there looking lost.
"Agent Prentiss," Hotch called from the stairs. "Can you come here, please?"
"Sure," Emily said, placing her coffee cup on the table and heading up the stairs to Hotch's office.
"Come in," Hotch said from behind his desk.
"What's wrong?"
"We have a new agent," Hotch replied.
"Okay," Emily said, already feeling a headache coming on.
"You'll need to show her around," Hotch continued, placing a pile of papers in front of her. "Here are the papers she needs to fill out."
"I thought I was coming back as SSA. Why do I have to show her around?" Emily bit back any further objections once she saw his stern gaze. Damnit.
"Alright, alright. I'll do it. Anything else?"
"Not right now," Hotch said firmly.
"You can go." He adds.
"Thank you, Hotch."
She left the office and returned downstairs where the team was waiting. Where you were waiting.
"Guys, this is Agent..." She trails off. What was your name again? She was too busy to ask...last night.
