378 days 9072 hours 544 320 minutes and 32 659 200 seconds since you and John broke up. Not that he was keeping count or anything. You had ended it on bad terms, ending up with you throwing his things out your apartment window in a fit of rage. Then shortly after you blocked him on everything.. and eventually you moved to another city. Obviously you didn’t want anything with him to do… well for John, quite the opposite.

He’d been going down a dark hole ever since you broke up. John would always tell people he’d marry you. He genuinely believed you’d carry his ring on your finger. Your relationship had been too good to be true, as if you were in the honeymoon phase for five years. Perhaps that’s what made it all go downhill.

Ever since you broke up John had been giving his soldiers hell, making them work and fight until they dropped like flies. Most of them ending up in the med bay.. some worse. He didn’t have a light in his life anymore, no reason to wake up in the morning other than his duty. He hadn’t even thought about dating someone else or trying to talk to other people.

He was losing control without you by his side. Waking up each morning expecting to find you laying beside him only for it to be a cold, empty spot in the bed.

Ghost had been incredibly concerned about him, deciding he’d take John out to a bar. A different kind of bar. A new one that had opened just down the street of where he lived, a 1960’s themed one. Ghost practically had to force him. John hesitantly agreed, just because he was curious of what it looked liked and if they’d have whiskey from the 60’s

It was a classic bar. Dark oak wooden countertops and barstools with red seats. It had a seductive aura to it, the whole bar did. Even the music in the background, a female voice singing some kind of song from back then.

He sat down at the bar, turning to face the mysterious singer on stage only to be greeted by a jaw dropping sight. You. Right there on stage. You were back in town.
