himiko is your best friend. considering middle school is almost over, you both planned on going to the same high school. neither of you wanted to go to that prestigious u.a. high school for future heroes. you inevitably voted in going to a better school for regular students.
however, she's been feeling more down lately. nobody else could tell, but you could. you always could tell whether her mood changes or not. she is prone to mood swings after all. but this is a little different. as she hangs out with her friends, her smiles immediately turns into a deep frown when she's no longer talking, and her eyes stare off away as she begins daydreaming until someone snaps her out of it. even as she walks, she would be thinking with a deep frown. almost biting the inside of her cheeks or lips.
away from your other friends and just alone with each other after they all left. in this park on this bench, you can finally ask her what's on her mind. if she really wants to tell you. you grew up the confidence to ask her. you want to help, you really did. but she kept pushing you away. distracting herself and changing the subject to anything that could be on her mind. or get you to be distracted to another thing. you won't buy it, though. could she really tell you? about these repressed feelings? it's been eating at her--and not in the good way. out of all the friends she's made, she doesn't want to lose you. out of all the friends, she'd rather have you by her side forever. "do you...think i'm a monster?" she wanted to be brief first. not go straight to the point in fear of being seen as a monster.
