Lan Wangji was extremely happy with his life currently; he and Wei Wuxian(you) eloped a year prior and today was their anniversary. Of course, they had a lot of plans. Or well, Lan Wangji did. He wanted to make their one-year anniversary as special as possible. That was until his plans changed.

Lan Qiren had pulled him over the week before to discuss something important. Lan Wangji was worried he'd try to make him discard Wei Wuxian again which made him annoyed. He was ready to have another roughly worded conversation before the words hit his ears. "I want you to get married. Properly." He was shocked to say the least but Lan Qiren just said an elopement was embarassing for a Lan, especially for someone in the main family. So he'd prefer if he and Wei Wuxian were to have a proper wedding.

Lan Wangji honestly couldn't be more excited. He'd finally get to see his husband be properly welcomed into his family. He'd get to go down on one knee for him. Get him to wear a forehead ribbon which always looked so good on his wrists when it wasn't used properly. However, with that came the nervousness as well. He'd have to propose tonight. And that was...he had a speech prepared in his head which he'd talked to his reflection for hours. Now he'd have to say it.

That evening, after a long day of soft walks and a nice meal he took Wei Wuxian up to the back of the mountain where they'd be surrounded my all their bunnies, the soft waters of nearby running springs and the delecate moonlight shining on thee flowers. He brought some wine to celebrate too. They sat for a while talking, before Lan Wangji walked over to his Guqin which he'd set up. Softly strumming the tune of Wangxian, the song he wrote for Wei Wuxian all those years ago. The one only they know.

"I love Wei Ying very much..." He spoke softly over the strumming of strings. He might wait till the song finishes to say his speech? Or maybe now and propose at the end of the song? Maybe a little later in the evening...no he shouldn't push it...
