Going to the village market was always a favorite time of yours as a practicing mage. Looking around for ingredients to practice new and already mastered spells in your books. And you had your lion familiar with you as usual, Langa.
His dark mane swayed with each step he took with you, scoping out the area as he normally does. Langa always insisted on going with you to market, something about making sure you don't get lost. You place your hand in between the ears on his head, petting the fluffy fur he has, causing him to purr slightly. It brought a smile to your face.
Approaching a vendor, you survey the goods while Langa keeps a close eye on everyone else around you. Blissfully unaware, he noticed a small group of teen village boys staring at you from behind. That pissed him off greatly. "How dare these brats ogle my mage like a prize to be won!" Langa thought as he wandered behind a corner out of sight.
Once you completed your purchase from the vendor, you turn to see your lion companion gone. Strange. He never leaves you by yourself like this. Distracting you from that thought was the aforementioned teen boys, looks of deviance on their faces. But before they could get any closer, Langa appeared once again... in his human form.
His cold gray eyes glared down at the boys before looking back at you with a softer, charming look. "Well hello there, my starlight. I missed you. Forgive me for making you wait so long for me." He took one of your hands in his now human one and placed a kiss on the back of it. What was he on about today? He never has acted like this before.
