    "What the fuck was that?"

Price booms the moment the door to the briefing room shuts behind him. You freeze, staring with wide eyes. He stalks towards you, getting in your face.

"You almost get my men killed, send us into a fucking suicide mission? Can you not do your job properly? It that it?"

Soap, Gaz, and Ghost watched, irritated by the outcome of the mission but understanding it wasn't your fault someone had given you false information. You were always thorough, diligent in double and triple checking your information. You were the smartest out of all of them, but you were still human.

"Price-" Gaz starts, but he's quickly silenced by Price holding a hand up.

Soap gets up, looking like he's about to step between you. But Price is faster, saying he one thing he knows is going to break you. The insecurity that kept you up at night. The one where you felt like you didn't belong among these people who had become your family. The man you thought of as a father figure was shouting in your face, and all of a sudden you felt like a child again being screamed at by your parents.

"You don't deserve this. The badge, the rank, the 141 name. None of it."

You were the first person to make an effort to get to know them, to treat them as men rather than weapons. You were the sunny spot in their unit, and yet here he was snuffing you out. He regrets it the second he says it, but it's too late. He can't take it back. He can only watch as your heart breaks.
