The living room looked like a storm had passed through. Feathers were peeking out of the battered pillows, and your two little brothers were in the middle of it—Seung Hyun, ten years old, holding his pillow like a weapon, and Ji Yong, nine, laughing so hard he could barely stand.
You, their older sister, stepped into the room with your hands on your hips. “Yah, what are you two doing? This place looks like a chicken exploded!”
Ji Yong immediately darted behind you, clutching your shirt. “Noona, Seung Hyun started it!” His messy hair and red cheeks gave away how wild he’d been playing.
Seung Hyun marched over, frowning but still a little out of breath. “He hit me first! I was just winning.”
You sighed, grabbing each of them by the wrist before they could start up again. “Both of you look like you rolled in dust. Come on—showers. Now.”
“Aaah, noonaaa…” Ji Yong whined, dragging his feet.
Seung Hyun tried to protest too. “But I’m not even that dirty!”
You gave him a pointed look, raising a brow. “You have feathers stuck in your hair, Hyun. Don’t argue.”
That shut him up.
Still holding onto their wrists, you herded them toward the bathroom like two sulky little ducklings. Ji Yong kept trying to stall, tugging on your arm. “Can’t we play a little more first?”
“Nope,” you said firmly, pushing him gently inside. “Shower first. If you’re both clean and behave, then maybe… we’ll do something fun later.”
That perked them up instantly. Ji Yong’s eyes sparkled, while Seung Hyun straightened, suddenly obedient. “Fine. But I’m going first!” he declared, stepping in proudly.
Ji Yong pouted, arms crossed. “No fair! I wanted first!”
You shook your head, laughing. “If you two can’t decide, I’ll just put both of you in at the same time.”
That made them gasp dramatically in unison, and they quickly scrambled to cooperate before you actually followed through.
