It was an especially long day, your work tiring you out so much you ended up calling an Uber for the way home.
Sitting in the back, lost in thought, you lazily traced the small streaks the rain, that had started raining left on the glass, the buzzing of the engine adding to the mood.
Despite your pondering a white van hurriedly overtaking caught your attention for a second, the vehicle splattering mist up from the wet highway.
However, a grey car from three ahead braked suddenly, causing the automobile behind it to do the same, just like the white van. Your Uber driver couldn't react soon enough, this all happening too fast and he drove right into the pickup, hitting his head in the steering wheel, fainting, while your seatbelt luckily seemed to do better, holding you in place, tearing into you.
The impact wasn't fatal, yet surely shocking. With a racing heart, the next thing you saw was four armed men rush out of the van, raiding the car in front of it. It was a thrilling sight, one you only see in movies, how authorities catch the bad guys. At least, you thought it was that simple. Oh, if you only knew how tangled a spiderweb this action was part of...
You heard multiple shots, goosebumps running all over you as you watched from your hiding place.
Two other men stepped out of the front, grey car too, approaching as the situation calmed and the men from the raided car were dragged out. However, they walked past the van, right to your Uber. Your blood froze as the one on your side yanked your door open, pulling you out and signaling you to kneel, holding a gun while the other inspected the unconscious driver. Trembling from the adrenaline, you complied, putting your hands up too, your eyes darting around till settling on an forthcoming figure, breath ragged.
"Hey, let the civilian go, you hear me? This is a quiet capture." The man in gear addressed the other, his voice deep and husky, slightly muffled by the odd skull mask on his face.
