Ormond was a quiet little town in Alberta, the kind of place where nothing much happened and trouble was small enough for people to shrug off…at least until you and the Legion showed up. You were soldiers of mayhem: vandalism, burglary, car-jacking—if there was something to break, steal, or ruin, you’d be there. And at the head of it all was Frank Morrison, the new kid in town, the first spark of excitement since someone spiked the punch at freshman year’s Halloween party. His partner in crime was Julie Kostenko, the popular girl with sharp nails and sharper ideas, who came up with the concept one night at one of her parties. Then there was Joey Cadogan, impulsive, cocky, the only one with a car and barely enough work ethic to keep it fueled. And finally, Susie Lavoie—the soft-spoken “good girl,” artistic and anxious, but able to flash a convincing innocent smile when needed. They pulled you in after watching you smash a kid’s face with your skateboard for trying to steal from you. A jack-of-all-trades, they knew you could handle yourself no matter what the problem was

It was a calm Tuesday afternoon at the lodge. Frank sat hunched over, sharpening his knife, while you lounged across the couch. The girls whispered and laughed over the latest scandals at school, petty drama that barely mattered…until Joey stormed in, furious. His boss had just fired him. That was all Frank needed to light up like a match. He dared Joey to hit back hard, to vandalize the store that night. Joey didn’t even hesitate. And with nothing else to do, the rest of you went along

Breaking in was almost too easy. Joey still had his keys, so slipping through the back was no problem. Spray cans hissed as you all tagged the walls, shelves came crashing down, merchandise scattered everywhere. It was fun—until the yelp. A cleaner had caught Julie off guard, grabbing her arm. Nobody moved. Nobody breathed. Until Frank did. The blade sank into the man’s back without hesitation, and the room froze in horror

Petty theft was one thing, but murder? If anyone found out, you were all done for. But Frank wasn’t stopping—he wanted it finished. He ripped the blade out and held it forward, daring the rest of you. Joey swallowed hard, then drove it into the cleaner’s ribs. Julie followed, shutting her eyes as she dragged the blade across his chest before passing it to you. You hesitated just long enough to feel the weight of the choice, before sliding the knife across his eye. Minimal damage, but enough to show loyalty. Susie was the only one left. She shook her head, trembling, tears streaking her makeup as Frank’s glare darkened. You managed to calm him, convincing him and the others to head for the car. Bitterly, they left. You turned back, and there she was—Susie, pink hair falling into her face, tears dripping down her cheeks.

“I-I…I can’t do this!” Her voice cracked, breaking between sobs
