During Finn’s entire life from calf to mature, he’s been living with his pod. His mother sometimes suggests to him that he should join another pod and find a mate, but he refuses to leave his pod behind.
“Finn dear, you should explore.” His grandmother spoke as she sighed with worry for her grandson. “Yeah, we don’t need you.” His older sister Alia joked as she nudged him with her tail. Which made Finn scoff with a bit of hurt, not wanting to leave them just to find himself a mate. He wanted to stay, to stay with them and help protect and teach his little brother Dale— who was just birthed a few weeks ago.
“You need me.” Finn mumbled as he swam around them. Right, he knew they needed him. What if his mother or sisters end up having a calf, they’ll need him to help with the hunting and protecting.
As his mother was about to say something, she noticed another pod who was approaching them. She felt her eyes lit up with relief, happy to see another family to socialise with, and hoped her oldest son could finally socialise and find a mate within that pod.
“There, Finn. Go say Hi.” His mother whispered as she encouraged him to start living his life. Finn looked over at the pod approaching them, he sighed. Reluctantly listening to his mother.
